ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Lima

Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you at the airport to transfer you to the selected hotel. Rest of the day free to rest or take an excursion (upon request with the local tour guide), if time permits.

Optional Program - Water Circuit by Night (Light Show): $109 per person

At 18:00 hrs we will pick you up from your hotel to begin the visit to the "Magic Water Circuit", a complex of green spaces of 180,000 square meters with 13 ornamental fountains and striking lighting effects that have set a Guinness Record to be the largest fountain complex of the world in a public park.

The main pool of this circuit squirts water reaching 80 meters height. The vast central dome water forms the image of a Lily flower and a crown of vertical jets and spray screen create the fantasy multi-coloured receiving laser projections. The main attraction is the “Fuente de la Fantasía”, a cybernetic pool 120 meters long that, thanks to technology, turns water into a dance and colour show.

Next, we will move to a touristic restaurant where you will enjoy a folkloric show with typical dances of our country, and at the same time taste the best dishes of Peruvian cuisine. Return to the hotel and overnight.

Day 2: Lima

Breakfast at the hotel. Between 9:10 and 9:40 or between 14:10 and 14:40 hours, depending on your choice, we will pick you up from your hotel to start the panoramic city tour where we can see the Colonial Centre, the Plaza Mayor, the Palace of Government, the Cathedral Basilica, the Archbishop's Palace and the Municipality of Lima. Also, we will visit Santo Domingo, a convent with cloisters and catacombs of the Colonial period. The tour starts with a panoramic view of the Huaca Pucllana and the traditional, residential and commercial areas of Lima to continue with the historic centre of Lima and end with a spectacular panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and the beaches of the Miraflores district from the park of love.

Optional Program

Gastronomic Tour in Lima: $199 per person

After pickup from your hotel, we will start our culinary adventure at a traditional Peruvian market where our guide will introduce you to the natural products and ingredients such as fruits, spices and seasonings that are the base of our famous food. Following, we will go to a recognized restaurant which has a privileged location right on the shore of the Pacific Ocean where you will delight in the culinary pleasures Peru has to offer and you will learn to prepare the famous Pisco Sour and our celebrated ceviche. Then, you will be able to enjoy an exquisite beachfront gourmet lunch.

La Huaca Pucllana Dinner with round trip transfers from hotel: $169 per person

At the arranged time, we will pick you up from the hotel to transfer you to Huaca Pucllana Restaurant, where we will be able to enjoy a fantastic 3-courses dinner with view to the archaeological rest. Return to the hotel.

Day 3: Lima to Cusco

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport in Lima.

SUGGESTION: You need to buy a ticket for today (LIM to CUZ) – If you’d like to take a tour in Cusco this afternoon, try to issue a flight arriving before midday.

Upon arrival at Cusco, transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax.

Optional Program

City Tour in Cusco & Nearby Ruins: $159 per person

Between 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Our staff will pick you up from the hotel to start the tour of the colonial city, built on the bases of Inca palaces. In the tour we will visit the Plaza de Armas, the Temple of the Sun, also known as Qoricancha, and the Cathedral of Cusco, where we can see beautiful paintings and sculptures. Then we will continue to the archaeological centre of Sacsayhuaman, a multipurpose place where the Sun, the Moon and the Earth were worshiped, and which was also used as a military fortress and an astrological centre. Later we arrived at Q'enco, a cult centre related to the fire element. We continue with Puca Pucara, a place used as a supply centre and Inca checkpoint, where wind ceremonies were also held. At the end of the tour we will arrive at Tambomachay, centre of cult to water and fertility.

Cocktails Tour: $109 per person

Cusco at night is an open book, just waiting to offer you experiences that you are sure to carry with you in your heart forever. Explore the city with us on a journey through its creative night-time cocktails. We will start off at Pachapapa restaurant with traditional local cuisine and more, forging a powerful connection with the earth as we learn to prepare a Cholo Sour coca leaf cocktail. Next up is the refined creativity of Cantonese culture at Kion Peruvian-Chinese restaurant, where we will learn to combine pisco with a dose of ginger. After that, we end our tour at Calle del Medio Restaurant, where we will savour a pisco punch with a view of the Plaza de Armas, ready to let ourselves be carried away by the music.

Day 4: Cusco to Sacred Valley

Breakfast at the hotel. Between 08:00 and 08:30 hours our staff will pick you up from your hotel to start the tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we visit the beautiful town of Pisac, its handicraft market and its narrow streets. We will continue the tour through the Sacred Valley to Urubamba, where you can enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. Then we will visit Ollantaytambo, a still inhabited Inca City that preserves a complex system of irrigation Canals and foundations of the time when much of the village was built. The archaeological site of Ollantaytambo has large groups of terraces, fortresses, squares, canals and the Sun Royal House, a megalithic temple of great mystical value.

Day 5: Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu to Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu. At the indicated time, transfer to the train station to start the excursion to the Sacred City of Machu Picchu, recognized as one of the wonders of the world and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The train takes us to the town of Aguas Calientes, from where we will ascend by bus to the Archaeological Centre and start the guided tour that lasts approximately 2 hours. During the visit you can see temples, squares, terraces, houses, barns, as well as the great biodiversity that exists in the surroundings. It is worth noting that the beauty of Machu Picchu is exalted by the extraordinary scenery where it is located. Around the citadel has been formed a National Reserve that has an area of 32,500 hectares, and that includes a constellation of archaeological monuments, which, in our opinion, were built as part of the Machu Picchu complex and not in isolation. At the indicated time we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we have lunch included. Return by train to Cusco city. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel.

Optional Program Gastronomic Tour: $199 per person

At the arranged time, we will pick you up from your hotel to visit some restaurants with its own special personality to match its unique culinary proposal. We will journey through the different cuisines alongside our chef on a personalized private tour. We will discover all of the nuances of Peruvian cooking and its fusions with cuisines from around the world. Learn something new about each of the cultures that have inspired us. We will start with the Nikkei knowhow behind the sushi maki, before continuing with alpaca meat and ceviche, and finishing your trip with chicharroz and a lucuma crema volteada for dessert. We will discover Cusco flavour by flavour, cuisine by cuisine, dish by dish. Don’t miss this unforgettable journey through the tastes of Peru.

Day 6: Cusco to Puerto Maldonado

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport to continue with your itinerary in Puerto Maldonado.

SUGGESTION: You need to buy a ticket for today (CUZ to PEM) – Here also try to issue a ticket arriving before midday in order to take advantage of the afternoon in your new destination!

Arrive into Puerto Maldonado, coined the Capital of Biodiversity. Begin your authentic Amazon adventure with a 25-minute boat ride navigating the clay-coloured Madre de Dios River to reach hidden jungle lodge, Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion. Settle into your stylish stilted wooden cabaña or room on our private eco-reserve then head to the palm-thatched Casa Grande dining room for a hearty buffet lunch before exploring the depths of the jungle on foot, starting from the Eco Centre.

Concepcion Trails - Take a walk along the Concepcion Trails, winding through the property’s nature trails for an immersive introduction to the intricate ecosystems of the Amazon basin. Backed by the protected Tambopata National Reserve and built on the grounds of a former cacao and rubber plantation, Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion harbours primary and secondary rainforest teeming with exotic wildlife and tropical plants.

Twilight River - At dusk witness the enchanting transformation of the rainforest from a diurnal to a nocturnal environment on a guided Twilight River boat ride, as animals and birds of the daytime give way to species specially adapted to the shadows of the night. See if you can spot caiman lurking on the riverbanks and stars of the southern hemisphere. In the evening enjoy à la carte dining, drawing on local Amazon ingredients for inspiration. Retreat to your cabaña or room to listen to the curious calls and croaks of the rainforest at night.

Day 7: Jungle Lodge

Lake Sandoval - This morning visit Lake Sandoval, a glassy, ox-bow lake located inside the protected Tambopata National Reserve, one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet. Reached via a sun-dappled jungle trail, Inkaterra explorer guides enjoy regaling visitors with their tales of unexpected encounters with poison frogs and camouflaged creatures. Board a dugout wooden canoe to quietly paddle through mangroves and glide onto Lake Sandoval, flanked by picture-perfect palms. This serene lake is home to thousands of species of birds, the endangered giant river otter, red howler monkeys, red-bellied macaws, anacondas, side-neck turtles and black caimans. Return to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion in time for lunch.

Inkaterra Canopy Walkway & Anaconda Walk - In the afternoon, take a 20-minute boat ride across the Madre de Dios River to climb the exhilarating Inkaterra Canopy Walkway and navigate the Anaconda Walk. The Inkaterra Canopy Walkway is a sophisticated and safe 344 metre (1,135 feet) network of seven ecologically constructed hanging suspension bridges, strung between eight treetop observation platforms above the forest floor. Originally constructed for our non-profit organization, Inkaterra Asociación, to carry out conservation projects, this is an unforgettable opportunity to observe the rainforest from the rooftop and gain a sense of its colossal size. Ascend the first vertiginous tower 38 metres (124 feet) above ground, keeping an eye out for white-throated toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, squirrel monkeys and the three-toed sloth. Back at the base, follow the Anaconda Walk, strolling the seasonally flooded aguajales wetlands on an elevated wooden boardwalk.

Rainforest by Night - Come nightfall, under the cover of darkness explore the rainforest on foot as your senses heighten to movements in the undergrowth and the raucous sounds of the rainforest. Back at the lodge, à la carte dinner is served from 19:30.

Day 8: Jungle Lodge

Native Farm - After breakfast in the lodge, discover the rainforest´s tropical plants and their intriguing medicinal uses by local communities by visiting our organic bio-orchard. Later, continue to our 30-hectare Palmetum, a collection of 19 Amazonian palms in a plot reserved for rainforest restoration and conservation.

Cocha Excursion - After a tasty lunch in the Casa Grande dining room, enjoy a relaxing paddle boat ride in a dugout canoe on Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion’s oxbow shaped lagoon or cocha. Row out onto the caramel-coloured water to enjoy the scenery and spot hoatzins, fly catchers and graynecked woodrails, perhaps with the sounds of red howler monkeys bellowing in the distance. Get close to the surprising remains of a semi-submerged steamboat in waters that also hide caiman and piranha. Using the practice of catch and release, you can fish for piranha like the local indigenous communities do, using a simple wooden rod.

Inland Collpa - During the evening, you will be able to participate in the INLAND COLLPA where you will see different species and their night routines by observing through our “blinds”. Enjoy a dinner at the hotel.

Day 9: Jungle Lodge to the Airport

After an early breakfast, we retrace our river and road journey back to Puerto Maldonado and then the airport. You will make a short visit to a Butterfly House before reaching the airport. Depending on airline schedules, this may require dawn departures.

SUGGESTION: You need to buy a ticket for today (PEM to LIM) – Consider the time of your international flight back home not to miss it or have a large waiting time in the airport.
