Thailand Episode 17 Days - USA/Canada Departure

Day 1: Depart for Thailand

On board international flight to Thailand.

Day 2: Welcome to Bangkok

Arrive in one of Bangkok’s International Airports (Suvarnabhumi). Our team will take care of you from the moment you exit the arrivals hall where you will be met by our transfer staff on arrival and be taken directly to your hotel in Bangkok.

Day 3: Bangkok

Today, we will visit one of Bangkok"s well known sights at the Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Trimitr) to see its solid gold Buddha, then we drive through the bustling Chinatown, Bangkok"s largest Flower Market at Paklong Talat, drive via Royal Avenue where most of the Government offices are located. In the afternoon, explore Bangkok"s must-see the Grand Palace - a walled complex on the banks of the Chao Phraya River that was once the seat of Siam’s - and later, Thailand’s - kings. Later, witness the riverside Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun) and relax on a motorboat ride along the Chao Phraya River.

Day 4: Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Bangkok

This morning, enjoy the journey to Ayutthaya, home to the UNESCO listed ruins of the medieval capital of Siam. On the way, stop at the Gems Gallery, where you can see how traditional Thailand precious jewelry is produced. Seeing the restored chedi of the crumbled Wat Phra Mahathat which was built in 1374 at the start of the Ayutthaya era, it is an impressive temple ruin originally constructed to house Buddha relics that mysteriously appeared to an early Ayutthayan king. The temple is famed for Buddha images that have tree roots grown around them to startling effect. Afterwards, visit the Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon located off the city island in the southeastern area of Ayutthaya in present Phai Ling Sub-district one of the landmarks of Ayutthaya.

Day 5: Bangkok - Floating Market - River Kwai - Bangkok

Damnoen Saduak locates about 100 kilometers southwest of Bangkok, which offers the best floating market experiences. The Floating Market consists of a maze of narrow canals and can be navigated by boat. Later, Continue to Kanchanaburi and visit War Cemetery, resting place for over 6,000 Allied prisoners and an opportunity to walk across the bridge on the Kwai River, famously connected to the “Death Railway” of World War II.

Day 6: Bangkok - Chiang Mai

This morning, learn how to cook delicious Thai food in one of Thailand’s historical restaurants! This discovery class lets you cook like a Thai Chef, preparing 4 or 5 recipes in half a day! After the class, each student receives a culinary certificate and then savours their masterpieces in our restaurant - or takes them back home. In the afternoon, fly to Chiang Mai, an ancient capital of the Lanna Kingdom. Arrived in Chiang Mai, transfer to hotel, and then enjoy free time for individual interests.

Day 7: Chiang Mai

Start today"s morning tour with Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, Northern Thailand"s most sacred temple, containing a holy relic of Lord Buddha. Equally impressive is the mythological Naga (dragon-headed serpent) staircase, with 290 steps leading up to the temple grounds. In the afternoon, visit Sankampang Handicraft Street, center of handicrafts, for on-site demonstrations on how the silk, lacquer, silver, wood and bronze wares are made.

Day 8: Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai

This morning, depart Chiang Mai and drive to scenic Chiang Rai, the northernmost province of Thailand. Stop at Wat Rong Khun (the White Temple) which is one of the most recognizable temples in Thailand. Then continue to Sop Rauk and ascend to the hilltop viewpoint to see the famous "Golden Triangle" of Southeast Asia - the meeting point of the borders of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos. The locals call it "Sop Ruak", as this is also where the Mekong meets the Ruak River. Continue to the dramatic House of Opium at Golden Triangle Park, offering an informative exhibition on the history of opium which dates back to almost 5000 years ago.

Day 9: Chiang Mai

In the morning, experience the bamboo rafting along the Mae-Wang River! The raft is made by Mon people with local materials. Rafting was a way local people used to live along the river. You can just sit back and enjoy the wonderful natural scenery during this 50-minute exciting activity. The afternoon is free. Alternatively, make the most of your time with our optional Elephant World Sanctuary Excursion (complimentary).

Day 10: Chiang Mai - Phuket - Khao Lak

Take a short domestic flight to Phuket, the largest and most popular island of Thailand. After arrival, we will be transferred to your hotel in Khao Lak, and be inspired by the beauty of the world with pristine white sand beaches.

Day 11: Khao Lak

Snorkeling day trip will take you by speedboat to the snorkeling location of Koh-Pad Island, an isolated island in the middle of Andaman Sea. It’s so unique, a real paradise for all diving enthusiasts and sea lovers.

Day 12: Khao Lak - Phuket

Today’s city tour includes the most famous old town area. Stroll through the quaint town center and capture photos of the exceptional Sino-Portuguese design of the majestic shop houses and museums in this historic district. Around Thalang road, the beautiful architecture along these roads will take you back to the charm of the old days. In the afternoon, stop at the lookout point on the island – Khao Rang Hill View Point.

Day 13: Phuket

Spend a lazy day and romantic night in your luxury pool villa. This is a romantic hideaway in the treetops, so tranquil and calm, a place to rejuvenate and relax amongst nature.

Day 14: Phuket

Thailand is the best destination for those wishing to learn and develop an authentic meditation practice. This morning, you will enjoy a 2 hours Private Coaching of Meditations. This is your ideal try if you are willing to make the first step of your next move.

Day 15: Phuket

A free leisure day at the white sandy beach or join our Phi Phi Island optional tour (complimentary).

Day 16: Phuket

Today is yours to just relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Day 17: Phuket Departure

Bid farewell to Thailand and board the return flight back to your hometown today.
