Day 1: USA TO TOKYO

Make your way to the airport for your international flight to Tokyo, the first stop on your unforgettable journey.

Day 2: Welcome To Tokyo

Upon your arrival to the bustling city of Tokyo, our dedicated team will be eagerly awaiting to greet you as soon as you step out of the arrival hall. Our friendly local staff will be on hand to escort you to your luxurious downtown hotel, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition into your exciting journey.

Day 3: An Exquisite Journey of Tokyo

After breakfast at your hotel, begin your Tokyo adventure with an immersive visit to the beloved Asakusa Temple, one of the city"s most iconic and stunning religious sites. Marvel at the vibrant colors and intricate details of the temple before heading to a taiko drum experience, where you"ll learn the basics of this traditional Japanese art form. 

After working up an appetite, join a sushi-making class with a professional chef and master the basic techniques of Japan"s most famous food. In the afternoon, continue your cultural journey by experiencing the mesmerizing and immersive digital art exhibition, Teamlab Planets.

Day 4: Discover the Spiritual and Culinary Delights of Kamakura

Begin your day with a journey to the charming city of Kamakura, known for its rich heritage and warm climate. Immerse yourself in the spiritual ambiance of the revered Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and experience the quaint charm of Wakamiya main street on a traditional Japanese rickshaw ride. Savor local delicacies like succulent Hayamagyu beef and refreshing bamboo noodles for lunch (available only in summer).

As the afternoon unfolds, visit the majestic Great Buddha of Kamakura, a 11.4 meter bronze statue of Amida Buddha nestled in the tranquil grounds of Kotokuin Temple. Then, pay a visit to Hasedera, a serene temple renowned for its breathtaking eleven-headed statue of Kannon. Standing at an impressive 9.18 meters, this gilded wooden statue is considered one of the largest wooden sculptures in Japan.

Day 5: Hakone & Mount Omuro: From Volcanic Wonders to Relaxing Hot Springs

Take a breathtaking 20-minute ropeway ride from Togendai to Owakundani, an active volcanic zone formed by the eruption of Mount Hakone some 3000 years ago. Then head to Mount Omuro, a 580-meter tall mountain that resembles an upturned Japanese bowl and symbolizes the city of Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Day 6: Discover the Charm of Japan: From Historic Monuments to Natural Wonders

Visit Ryosenji Temple in Shimoda, where the Treaty of Peace and Amity was signed between the U.S. government and the Japanese Tokugawa shogunate in 1854. This living museum showcases over 3,000 articles related to Commodore Perry and his Black Ships, offering visitors a glimpse into this significant moment in Japanese history.

In the afternoon, prepare for a cave excursion by boat at Dougashima. The blue cave is called Tensodo, designated as a natural monument in 1935. It is a sea cave with three entrances and the south entrance is especially large and is 147m in length. The cave has a ceiling with a big round hole with beautiful sunlight shining down. 

End the day at the tranquil Inatori onsen area, where you can relax and rejuvenate in hot springs, indulge in delicious local cuisine, and unwind in the peaceful surroundings of this picturesque region. Whether you seek adventure or a serene escape, Inatori onsen offers the perfect getaway to complete your day.

Day 7: Exploring the Breathtaking Landscapes of Izu: Jōren Falls, Kawazu Nanadaru Park & Shuzenji

Join us as we embark on a journey of natural splendor along the east coast of the Izu peninsula. Our first stop of the day will be the awe-inspiring Jōren Falls, located in the Yugashima district of Izu city. As a Shizuoka Prefectural Natural Monument and one of "Japan"s Top 100 Waterfalls", it is an absolute must-see for any nature lover.

Venturing further, we will make our way to the idyllic Kawazu Nanadaru Park, a hidden gem that perfectly encapsulates the charm of rural Japan. As you travel along the road leading to the site, take in the delightful scenery of little houses, rice fields, and old ladies strolling along the quiet streets. All around you, the mountains are draped in a thick forest of pines, cedars, and bamboo, creating a picturesque and serene atmosphere.

As the day draws to a close, we"ll head back to the charming town of Shuzenji. Take a leisurely stroll along the town"s picturesque streets, decorated with quaint shops and traditional houses that evoke a bygone era. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of this ancient capital and enjoy the serene ambiance that surrounds you.


Day 8: Discover the Culture: Shuzenji Onsen, Mishima and Yamanakako

Embark on a tantalizing breakfast and discover the wonders of the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnaces, inscribed on UNESCO"s World Heritage list in 2015. These furnaces produced iron cannons for Japan"s defense in the samurai era, paving the way for a remarkable industrial revolution in just 50 years.


Continue to The Mishima Skywalk, Japan"s longest pedestrian suspension bridge, and soak in breathtaking views of Mount Fuji. Delve into the foothills of Mount Fuji to visit the Kubota Itchiku Museum, showcasing stunning kimono creations depicting nature, cosmos, and seasons, including the unfinished "Symphony of Light," formed of 80 kimonos creating an awe-inspiring picture of Mount Fuji.

At 11:00 AM, the magnificent Train Suite Shiki-shima sets off on its journey from Ueno Station, as station staff waves goodbye to passengers. Onboard the train, the stunning scenery of Japan is a major highlight. Soon you are treated to an exquisite lunch, delicately prepared using the finest ingredients, by renowned chef Yoshihisa Akiyama of MUTSUKAR. As the train travels through scenic routes, passengers can take in breathtaking views of the Japanese countryside, including snow-capped mountains, lush forests, and villages.


Later in the evening, the train"s executive chef, Shigeru Sato, treats you to a special full-course dinner of French cuisine. Sip on a refreshing cocktail while enjoying the picturesque scenery from Lounge Komorebi in Car 5. Finally, retire to your luxurious onboard accommodations for a restful overnight stay

Day 11: Experience Hakodate"s Rich Culture and Indulge in Local Delicacies on Shiki-Shima

After arriving at Hakodate Station, enjoy free time until it"s time to board the charter bus for Shin-Yu Tan-Bo. Yuji Ogata of Japanese Restaurant Fumoto prepares a delicious breakfast featuring local seafood delicacies.

A special trip to Hakodate Station on a retro tram follows, departing at 10:20 AM, with lunch served onboard by chef Yuya Sekikawa of Climat.

At 2:30 PM, visit the Upopoy National Ainu Museum and Park, showcasing the daily lives, culture, and history of Hokkaido"s indigenous Ainu. Enjoy performances of traditional Ainu dancing and mukkuri, recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage.

At 5:00 PM, arrive at your accommodations in the Shikotsuko area at Lake Shikotsu Tsuruga Bessou Ao no Za. Every room is equipped with a spacious open-air hot spring bath and an indoor bath with jets. The 3rd day of the Train Suite Shiki-shima tour commences at 8:50 AM with a departure from Lake Shikotsu Tsuruga Bessou Ao no Za, where guests board a charter bus to Ao no Za. Afterward, the train departs from Tōya Station at 10:50 AM, and guests enjoy lunch at Molière Café "Come Rain or Come Shine" in Sapporo to relish Hokkaido-style French cuisine by chef Hiroshi Nakamichi.

At 1:10 PM, the train arrives at Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station and departs at 1:30 PM, reaching Aomori Station at 4:40 PM. Here, guests board a charter bus for the Shin-Yu Tan-Bo Jomon Trip and visit the Sannai Maruyama Site, which features ruins from the Jomon Period. The site offers insight into the lifestyle of people who lived around five millennia ago, showcasing how they constructed buildings, made tools, and lived a sedentary life. The facilities are only accessible with the Train Suite Shiki-shima tour, and guests are guided through the awe-inspiring restored buildings in the outdoor Jomon Village and the Jomon Jiyukan, which features exhibits of excavated items and explanations of how the Jomon people lived.

Guests enjoy dinner outside the train at Los Cuatro Gatos, a restaurant in the Aomori Museum of Art, prepared by chef Masanori Kawaguchi of Hotel Jogakura (Aomori). After dinner, guests can unwind with a drink at Lounge Komorebi in Car 5 during the Cocktail Hour, admiring the evening scenery from the train window. Guests spend the night on the train.

Day 13: Experience a Gourmet Journey on Train and Farewell Party

Savor a breakfast made with locally-sourced ingredients aboard Train Suite Shiki-shima, highlighting the regions it has traveled through. At Naruko-Onsen Station, explore the charming town, known as one of Oshu"s three greatest hot springs.

Enjoy a selection of sushi for lunch prepared by Masahiro Abe of Sushimasa, Ishinomaki, featuring fresh seafood from the world-famous fishing area off the coast of Ishinomaki.

The train arrives at Ueno Station at 5:20 PM, where a farewell party in Prologue Shiki-shima allows for reflection on your unforgettable journey. Share your experiences with the train crew and fellow travelers before our staff transfers you to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day 14: the Best of Japanese Culture: Dine at Michelin-rated Restaurants, Cultural visit & Shopping
